Towards a green and clean region

North Savo is doing well nationally in the green transition. It is a huge societal change that is only just beginning, and projects are multiplying. It is a big opportunity for the region. This means not only clean energy and circular economy, but also more sustainable buildings, a more sustainable food system, new forms of mobility and the development of ecosystem services. Finland's largest biogas plant and excellence in energy technology are our strengths in the green transition.

Region's vision and plans into action

The North Savo Regional Council is a statutory joint authority, which is tasked with representing inhabitans, municipalities and business interests nationally and internationally. All the region’s municipalities (19) are members of the Council.
